About Us

While both Ross and I have always been gardeners and had a few iris in most of our gardens, we never really became avid irisarians until we met J. D. and Lois O'Brien. Lois had been growing and collecting iris from the early 1940's on. Garden in bloom They had a huge collection and wanted to fulfill a lifelong dream of having their own iris display garden. They hired Ross to find them a piece of property and (when they discovered he was a contractor) to build their iris garden and new home in Sebastopol (Ross' other specialty is construction from the ground up). Some of you may know the O'Brien's and know how incredibly charming they are. Well, not only did they charm their way in to our hearts but they also charmed us in to growing the iris! They have since retired and we have continued on with many iris from their collection and also new varieties that we add every year.

Overhead viewWe operate on a farm of 5 acres in the lush and fertile county of Sonoma in Northern California. We started out relatively small with a few rows of iris and eventually branched out to the local farm markets and now to the web. We belong to the local iris club and Ross has won many awards in their iris shows and is now a qualified judge for the American Iris Society.

We are very honored to be selling introductions for Jim Begley. Jim is a hybridizer in the local area that has produced many beautiful and interesting new iris varieties including Panama Hattie, Tennison Ridge, Savannah Fair, Manhattan Hattie and Tahitian Dreams. We are dabbling in hybridizing also and will have several new introductions in the very near future. Be sure to check our Seedlings page for updates or check out our seedling beds at the garden.

Garden CartWe have met so many wonderful people through the garden, the farm markets and the American Iris Society. Many have become regulars to our garden and we want to thank you all for supporting our business. We are always learning in this business and try to apply new methods and techniques in order to produce a quality product. Quantities are limited and we do sell out of several varieties every year especially during peak bloom which is generally the end of April or the beginning of May. Please come out and share our passion for the iris or just enjoy the pictures here!

Have a wonderful Spring & drive safely!
Ross & Barbara BeVier
